Recommended Listening, Viewing, and Websites: Viewing
The American Library Association, through the work of its member committees, award selection panels, and review editors, regularly prepares lists of high quality library materials, whether audio, video, or online materials.
Materials for children 14 years of age and younger of especially commendable quality that demonstrate respect for young people’s intelligence and imagination; exhibit venturesome creativity; and reflect and encourage the interests of children and young adolescents in exemplary ways.
The Fabulous Films for Young Adults committee selected a list of films around a theme that appealed to young adults in a variety of library settings. Titles were selected to appeal to young adults with varied tastes and interests. (discontinued in 2015)
In 1998, the Video Round Table established the Notable Videos for Adults list, as a means of providing guidance to public and academic librarians involved in building dynamic and balanced video collections for an adult clientele.
